Catalina Parks - Spanish speaking Professional Actress with a Latin American accent

Growing up in Medellin, Colombia, I was driven, industrious and persistent. If you wanted to purchase candies and cakes in middle and high school, you came to me! That drive and industriousness helped me excel not only in my studies but also my corporate and acting careers. Graduating with a BA in Business Administration & Finance from Columbia’s top university, I came to the U.S. to master the English language. I landed a my ‘dream’ job working for a mid-sized mortgage bank headquartered in Atlanta winning many awards for my efficiency and politeness. This work ethic helped me break into the entertainment industry by accident. Because I am tall, I started to do some print modeling and as I started to book more and more work, I got bitten by the acting bug.

I quit my nine-to-five in the mortgage industry and literally never looked back. Yes, the mortgage bank wasn’t very happy! Since then, I’ve had the privilege of studying with the best coaches in the industry both in Atlanta and New York. I’ve had the opportunity to perform in hundreds of projects including commercials, voiceovers, industrial videos, commercial print, film and TV in both English and Spanish.

In 2015, I was recognized with a “ TIVA Peer A ward ” in the category of “ Acting on Camera ” and in 2021, I won an award for “Best Supporting Actress” in the Christian Film Festival.

I truly enjoy giving life to films, training materials, commercials, or corporate presentations . I understand the need to produce a project that accomplishes the client’s goals.

It’s very rewarding for me to also work as a Standardized Patient in medical and nursing schools to help train our future medical professionals on communications skills.

While working as a Senior producer/director with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2013, I had the pleasure of working with Catalina Parks in a Spanish/English novella entitled Text 4 Baby. As a director you hope to work with actors who are prepared, professional and fun and that is exactly what Catalina is to a “T”. She was a joy to work with. She made my job so much easier. I mostly coached her rather than direct her. For a director that’s a godsend. Catalina always had her lines prepared which in the case of this production was double duty. We had to shoot each scene twice as it was in both Spanish and English. Her English was MUCH better than my Spanish and we had some glorious laughs about that! What impressed me the most was Catalina was always cognizant of where she was in the scene so if we had to re-shoot a sequence she was always in the right spot for the shot and had her lines ready to go. I never saw her without a smile on her face. Catalina Parks is the epitome of professional. Directors hope for a consummate actor such as Catalina and my hope was realized. I hope to have another chance to work with her in the very near future.
